Our Center for Capacity Building team partners with communities across the country, providing intensive, on-the-ground technical assistance tailored to local needs and challenges. We work shoulder-to-shoulder with local leaders and people experiencing homelessness to assess their systems, identify gaps, and implement proven solutions that work for their unique contexts.

This hands-on approach creates a powerful learning exchange: while we help communities optimize their systems, we gain invaluable insights about what works — and what doesn’t — in different environments. This knowledge shapes our research, strengthens our advocacy, and helps us refine solutions that will end homelessness.

To extend our reach, we’ve developed the Center for Learning as an online platform offering training and resources to communities nationwide, complementing our intensive technical assistance work.

An Approach to Help Communities Transform Their System

Our technical assistance work leads to tangible results. From cities like Asheville/Buncombe County, NC, Lane County, OR, and Howard County, MD to Alachua County, FL, Cedar Rapids/Linn County, IA, and Austin/Travis County, TX , we work with communities and people experiencing homelessness to implement evidence-based best practices, and to innovate in new and emerging areas of concerns.
