Sample email: “I am concerned that HUD may be considering issuing a new Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for FY2025 – even though Congress allowed HUD to issue a two-year NOFO in FY2024, which they did. It would be extremely disruptive and problematic if HUD were to suddenly release a new NOFO at this point in the year, especially one that is a significant shift from years past. Please encourage HUD to honor the 2-year NOFO that was issued in FY2024 and discourage them from issuing a new NOFO. Please also reject the President’s FY26 budget proposal and appropriate $4.922 billion for HUD’s Homeless Assistance Grants. This source of funding provides funding for the bulk of homeless services, shelters, and housing placements across the country. Combining and cutting these funds would decimate the very infrastructure that exists for homelessness response system across the country.“
