Engaging Landlords at the CoC Level

< 1 min

To successfully house people experiencing homelessness, homeless services providers need to partner with landlords. There are lots of ways to organize this work, but some communities have started to centralize landlord recruitment. In these communities, the Continuum of Care (or CoC) lead organization (which coordinates homeless response throughout a geographic area) has a team that manages landlord relations for providers in their community. This can really make life easier for case managers and other staff at provider organizations! Tarrant County (home of Fort Worth, Texas) is one of the communities who’s organizing their landlord work in this way. In this video, Kimberly Doty, Housing Director for the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition, explains how it works.
