Call Your Member of Congress…Today!

HUD re-opened the FY 2026 NOFO late Friday, leaving nine working days to complete applications. Your Congressperson probably isn’t aware of the impossible situation that HUD has created for your community.

It is essential that your Members of Congress hear from you. Speak plainly, speak passionately, and loudly. Tell your members in both the House and the Senate:

• HUD continues to suddenly force massive changes on homeless response in a chaotic way. This will disconnect vulnerable people from the housing and services they need and make homelessness worse in their district.
• These aren’t just administrative decisions. They disrupt local homeless response systems and have serious consequences for the people and communities.
• This uncertainty comes at a cost. Providers cannot effectively plan, hire staff, allocate resources, or serve people experiencing homelessness when HUD’s requirements continuously shift. The consequences are felt by providers, individuals, families, and communities.
• The providers in your community do lifesaving work every single day. They deserve better than to be mishandled this way. Rather than burying us in bureaucratic paperwork, please help us get back to doing what we do best: helping people get off the streets and back into housing.
