The Vulnerability Index-Service Prioritization Decision Assistance Tool (VI-SPDAT) has long been a key tool in communities’ assessments of how to prioritize service delivery for people experiencing homelessness. Communities are shifting towards other tools, as the VI-SPDAT is now being phased out – but this leaves a gap in how to prioritize people for services.
In the Next Generation Assessment Tools Series, the Alliance will share information on assessment tools and provide ideas for how to move new ideas and tools forward.
Future installments of the series will include information on defining “evidence-based practices,” describing emerging models, and other tips for implementing the next generation of assessment tools.
