2016 Continuum of Care Resources

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has released the FY 2016 Continuum of Care (CoC) Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA). Use our resources below to help secure the maximum amount of federal funds to assist people experiencing homelessness.

  • Continuum of Care Awards Preparation Checklist: There are a lot of boxes to tick off when competing for federal funding. Download and print this checklist to make sure you don’t miss any steps.
  • CoC Score Estimating Tool: Download our NOFA Score Estimating tool to help visualize and think strategically about the scoring criteria for the 2016 Continuum of Care NOFA.
  • Fact Sheet: Housing First: CoCs that can demonstrate at least 75 percent of their project applications use a Housing First approach can receive points on the NOFA.
  • Reallocating Permanent Supportive Housing: After years of emphasis on reallocating low performing transitional housing programs, many communities are finding their CoC portfolios almost entirely composed of permanent housing projects. Evaluate these projects and consider reallocation when it would improve the communities’ ability to end chronic homelessness.
